PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress useless power consumption and the useless consumption of a capacity in a recording medium by canceling video-recording reservation and viewing reservation and stopping the video-recording and viewing when a reception state is not excellent. SOLUTION: A digital broadcast receiver includes: a recording reservation means 22 for setting the recording reservation of a reception signal; an error rate detecting means 16 for detecting the error rate of the reception signal before the recording start time which is set by the recording reservation means; and a control means 20 for determining whether the recording reservation set by the recording reservation means is canceled or not based on the detection result of the error rate detecting means.
