PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a rubber composition for use in a tire, in which, in a mastication process of a natural rubber, a reduction in a rubber molecular weight is attained along with controlling odor development, and a viscosity increase of the masticated rubber with age is inhibited. SOLUTION: This method comprises compounding carbon black of 5-30 pts.wt. and a quinone radical scavenger of 0.1-5.0 pts.wt. based on an diene rubber of 100 pts.wt. which contains the natural rubber of≥50 wt.%, performing a first step of a mixing operation to prepare a masticated masterbatch, compounding the compounding agents which contains carbon black except and not containing the agents for vulcanization to the masticated masterbatch before performing a second step of the mixing operation.
