PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body structure capable of suppressing the torsional deformation of a pillar and the local deformation of a rocker without increasing the number of parts. SOLUTION: The side-surface 7e of a pillar 3 with a low strength is earlier deformed to the inside of a vehicle when a hinge part 5b is nonuniformly brought into contact with the other vehicle when a vehicle is collided therewith by reducing the strength of the vehicle rear side side-surface 7e of the pillar adjacent to the hinge part 5b of a door hinge 5 over the strength of the other surfaces (outer surface 7a and side-surface 7d). Therefore, the door hinge 5 is buried to the inside of the vehicle in the lateral direction before the pillar 3 is torsionally deformed. By suppressing the torsional deformation of the pillar 3, a load is uniformly transmitted from the pillar 3 to the rocker 2 to prevent the rocker 2 from being locally deformed.
