The invention relates test stand (21) for a drive (22) to be tested comprising a base body (23) on which a controllable load (24) and a holder (25) for the drive (22) are disposed. The load (24) and the holder (25) are disposed such that the drive (22) to be tested and the load (24) act on each other at at least one coupling point (K). The test stand (21) comprises a control device (30) for the load (24). The control device (30) is designed such that, during operation of the test stand, said control device implements a model (31), such that the control device (30) is able, on the basis of the model (31), to determine a counteraction (F) of the coupling point (K) on an action (E) of the drive (22) to be tested, by an actuation of the load (24). The control device (30) is further designed so as to cyclically capture an action (E) of the drive (22) to be tested on the coupling point (K) during operation of the test stand, determine an actuation for the load (24) using the action (E) and an associated target counteraction (F*) of the coupling point (K), so that the counteraction (F) of the coupling point (K) corresponds to the target counteraction (F*), and actuates the load (24) correspondingly.
