It is possible to provide a transmission device, a reception device, a frame rate conversion system, and a frame rate conversion method which can transmit reference control information even when the data amount of reference control information is large. In a reproduction device (151), a decoding unit (152) decodes a predetermined amount of encoded video data. The decoded video data and reference control information (motion vector and the identifier) obtained by decoding are supplied to a transmission interface (153). The transmission interface (153) transmits the data and the information to a display device (161). The transmission interface (153) includes: a first transmission channel for transmitting the decoded video data; and a second transmission channel for transmitting the reference control information.
