<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 5α-reductase inhibitor, and a beverage, foodstuff and medicine imparted with a 5α-reductase inhibitory function. <P>SOLUTION: This 5α-reductase inhibitor is characterized by containing the seed of an oriental pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) and/or a western pumpkin (Cucurbita maxima) as an active ingredient, and the beverage, foodstuff and medicine imparted with the 5α-reductase inhibitory function are also provided.
