PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device which displays character information in visually legible fonts according to resolution at a display output destination.

SOLUTION: A printer 1 including a monitor 13 which displays an image by predetermined resolution includes: an image input part 171 which fetches image data; a character output processing part 172 which processes fonts of character data to be added to the image data fetched by the image input part 171; a syhthetic processing part 173 which sythesizes the image data fetched by the image input part 171 with the character data whose fonts are processed by the character output processing part 172; a video image output terminal 15 which outputs image data for displaying an image by resolution different from predetermined resoultion to the outside; and an output control part 20 which outputs the image data synthesized by the synthetic processing part 173 to the monitor 13 and the video image output terminal 15, wherein the character output processing part 172 processes the fonts of the character data according to the resolution of the image displayed at an output destination output by the output control part 20.
