<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal allowing natural operation even if holding a casing by any of right and left hands. <P>SOLUTION: This mobile terminal has: a holding state management part 14 managing holding information showing how to hold the casing by a human hand based on a touch sensor detection state change event from a right touch sensor part 12 provided on a right edge upper side of the casing or a left touch sensor part 13 provided on a left edge upper side of the casing, and a touch panel detection event from a touch panel part 11; and a UI (User Interface) display change instruction part 16 deciding whether the operation of the terminal is one-hand operation by the right hand, one-hand operation by the left hand, or operation by both the hands based on the holding information managed in the holding state management part 14, and changing arrangement of operation buttons in the touch panel part 11 such that the operation by the one hand is easy to perform in the case of the one-hand operation.
