<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a spacial volume of a high-voltage and large electric power transformer, suppress a cost and complexity, and attain high-level reliability of no-contact electric power transmission and two-way communication. <P>SOLUTION: A method and an apparatus (100) for an imaging system is provided. This imaging system includes a gantry having a fixed member connected to a rotary member. The rotary member includes an open area adjacent to a rotation axis of the rotary member. An X-ray source is provided on the rotary member. An X-ray detector is disposed on the rotary member and configured so as to receive an X-ray from the X-ray source. Rotary transformers (102 and 104) disposing a primary winding and a secondary winding (108 and 110) on the circumference form a part of the no-contact electric power transmission system which allows the rotatable part of the gantry to be rotated at a significantly high speed.
