PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an electrode having immobilizedπ-conjugated ligands arranged at spaces that can formπ-conjugated complexes, and an electrode having immobilizedπ-conjugated metal complexes. SOLUTION: The method for producing the electrode having immobilizedπ-conjugated ligands has processes for bringing an aqueous solution into contact with an electrically conductive base material, the aqueous solution includingπ-conjugated ligands and a surfactant or a water-soluble molecule having a structure different from that of theπ-conjugated ligands, and immobilizing theπ-conjugated ligands on the base material.
