PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable connection pins to uniformly come into contact with pin holes of all inner plates arranged at least in non-guide rows, suppress wear of the pin holes of the specific inner plates and the connection pins and prevent chain wear elongation, even when tensile force with a high load is applied to a silent chain and the connection pins are deformed. SOLUTION: In the silent chain 1, the inner plates 4, 5 having the pairs of pin holes 3 arranged in guide rows 6 and non-guide rows 7 are endlessly interconnected by the connection pins 10 loosely fitted to the pin holes 3. In the connection pin 10, the outer diameter is gradually increased from both end parts toward the central part, and the central part has the maximum outer diameter. When the connection pins 10 are deformed due to the tensile force applied to the chain, abutment faces 10a of the connection pins 10 on the pin holes 3 of the respective inner plates 5 arranged in the non-guide rows 7 become approximately straight and are uniformly brought into contact with the pin holes 3, so as to suppress chain wear elongation.
