PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lower rail device for a sliding door which can be easily installed, allows a sliding door to stably travel, and facilitates sweeping dusts and wastes accumulated on lower rails. SOLUTION: In the lower rail device for the sliding door, an inclined plane 12 is formed along the entire longitudinal length of a side edge of a top part 11 of a rail piece 1, the rail pieces 1, 1 are laterally arranged side by side in a non-contact state, the inclined planes 12, 12 are made to face each other to form lower rails 2, the respective inclined planes 12, 12 support the lower end 31 of the sliding door 3, and the sliding door 3 travels on the lower rails 2 so that the bottom 33 of the sliding door 3 does not come into contact with a groove ground 21 formed between the rail pieces 1, 1.
