<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning pattern setting method by which a preliminarily set existing scanning pattern is properly modified and reset and by which high definition laser beam machining is performed. <P>SOLUTION: This is a scanning pattern setting method in a laser beam machining apparatus in which a scanning pattern is set, with a travelling direction of a laser beam determined relative to a plurality of object lines.
