PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detaching tool for E-type snap ring, capable of easily detaching an E-type snap ring without damaging a shaft member to which the E-type snap ring is attached. SOLUTION: The detaching tool comprises a disk-like member 6 including a bearing receiving groove 4 and an opening and closing claw 10 protruded from an edge of the groove 4 in an axial direction L; and a C-shaped member 7 having an opening and closing claw 11 protruded from the edge of the groove 4 in the axial direction L. The C-shaped member 7 is mounted on the disk-like member 6 to be rotatable around the axis L. When the disk-like member 6 and the C-shaped member 7 are relatively rotated while the opening and closing claws 10 and 11 are inserted into opening ends 3a and 3b of the E-type snap ring 3, the opening and closing claws 10 and 11 are moved to circumferentially separate to each other about the axis L to expand the E-type snap ring 3 and push out the E-type snap ring 3 in a direction orthogonal to a shaft member 2. Since the opening and closing claws 10 and 11 are moved circumferentially around the shaft member 2, the shaft member 2 is never damaged. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
