PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clip attaching/detaching tool easily attaching/detaching a clip with a grommet secured thereto, even in a place too narrow to insert both hands. SOLUTION: The clip attaching/detaching tool is used to attach/detach a clip 20 in and from the groove of a shift rod, wherein the clip 20 has: a bottom surface plate 20a mounted on the shift rod 40 having a peripheral groove in the vicinity of the tip end and having a hole to be inserted into the groove; an upper surface plate 20b connected to the bottom surface plate at its end part; and a spring part 20c connected to the bottom surface plate at its end part, other than the upper surface plate. The clip attaching/detaching tool further has: a substrate 1 of which the end part is inserted between the bottom surface plate of and the upper surface plate of the clip mounted on the shift rod and the tip end abuts on the inside of a connection part; and a holding plate 2 which is connected rotatably to the substrate at a prescribed position and pushes the connection part of the bottom surface plate and the upper surface plate of the clip and the spring part from the outside of the clip when mounting the clip on the shift rod.
