WATER TREATMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment apparatus and method which can inhibit a decrease in the flow rate of permeate through a pretreatment filtration means and a decrease in the flow rate of permeate through a reverse osmosis membrane. SOLUTION: In the water treatment apparatus comprising a pretreatment filtration means for filtering water to be treated containing organic matter and a reverse osmosis membrane for filtering the permeate through the pretreatment filtration means, the COD of the water to be treated is 20 mg/l or lower, a coagulant addition means is provided which adds a coagulant to the water to be treated whose pH is not adjusted, and the reverse osmosis membrane is an uncharged membrane.
