PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic rice polishing apparatus that enables a single operator to satisfactorily perform maintenance and minimizes the risk of an electric shock during a maintenance work. SOLUTION: The automatic rice polishing apparatus keeping a building 31 separated into a client room 3 and a machine room 4 by a partition wall 2 is equipped with a remote controller 40 for use in maintenance, which is movably disposed within a reach of cable signals or radio signals. Thereby, an operator is allowed, while manipulating the remote controller 40, to perform a visual inspection of a unit machine requiring maintenance, to perform a necessary repair work on the unit machine, or to satisfactorily perform maintenance even by himself, and hence working efficiency is improved. Further, the risk of a failed cooperative action by and between two operators taken at a wrong time caused by verbal communication between the operators, is avoided, and hence working safety is improved.
