PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a screen of a device in a direction desired by a user despite a vertical state and a horizontal state of the device. SOLUTION: A screen switching device by a face authentication has a camera 103 which takes a picture of a face, a display portion 107 displaying an image taken by the camera, displaying images including a television image and a television telephone image received, having a rectangular form, and making one of a horizontal side or a vertical side an axis determining as a reference of a display direction, a face authentication portion 110 authenticating a face whose image is taken by the camera and displayed on the display portion, and a display controller 111 switching a screen determined based on the direction of the axis of the display portion on which the face authenticated by the face authentication portion is displayed and displaying the images including the television image and the television telephone image on the switched screen.
