A standard post for making reversible door and window frames comprises an elongate body (4) with a longitudinal axis (L), an inner edge (5) and an outer edge (9) substantially parallel to said longitudinal axis (L) and end edges (6, 7) substantially transverse to said longitudinal axis (L). The end edges (6, 7) are both inclined to the longitudinal axis (L), with substantially identical angles of inclination (a), one of said inclined edges (6, 7) being designed to be removed upon installation by a cut substantially at right angles to the longitudinal axis (L) to define the lower end of the post, whereas the other one of said inclined edges (J, 6) is designed for connection with the lintel (3). |
