The cover(3) to fill the gap between the edge of the window and frame has a strip-form fastening protrusion(5) with cross sectional thickened portion(6) forming front and rear bevelled spreading surfaces(7,8). A seal(10) forming a component part of the window frame has a channel-form recess(9) with a cross sectional shape conforming to the cross sectional thickened portion, thereby creating an elastic clamping of the protrusion.
