PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral type membrane element, a spiral type membrane filter equipped with the element capable of ensuring more power without troublesome operation and a system and a method for management of the membrane filter using the element. SOLUTION: The membrane element includes a sensor detecting the nature of a liquid, e.g. a flow rate sensor 32, a power-generating section generating power by using the liquid, e.g. a coil 25, and a radio transmission section, or a communication section 36, carrying out radio transmission of detected signals from the sensor. The arrangement enables ensuring more power without troublesome operation by carrying out power generation in the power generating section by using the to-be-detected liquid, i.e. raw water, permeated water and/or concentrated water. The power generated by the power-generating section is supplied at least to the radio transmission section for detected signals from the sensor to be radio-transmitted from the radio transmission section.
