<p>Disclosed is a radiation image photographing system employing an FPD in which the photographed image data is compressed at a high compression rate taking account of the characteristics of the FPD. A radiation image photographing system comprises an imaging panel (62) in which a plurality of detection elements (620) for storing energy corresponding to an applied radiation dose and converted into the quantity of electric charges are arranged in a matrix, and a plurality of signal read-out circuits (674) for reading out the electric charges stored in the detection elements (620) and converting the electric charges into a voltage value, wherein the image data is divided into groups for regions corresponding to respective signal read-out circuits (674), and a compression processing section (601) performs compression processing on a group basis.</p> |
