PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of suppressing variation in threshold voltage of a drive transistor with time.

SOLUTION: In addition to a control signal for taking a video signal in a pixel 2 from a signal line SL, a light scanner 4 supplies a control signal for taking a predetermined potential Vss1 in the pixel from the signal line SL to each WS scan line. A sampling transistor Tr1 takes the predetermined potential Vss1 in from the signal line SL according to the control signal supplied from the light scanner 4 and applies it to the gate G of the drive transistor Trd and then turns off a light-emitting element EL to perform switching from a light-emission period to a non-light-emission period. Further, the light scanner reversely bias the voltage Vgs between the gate G and source S of the drive transistor Trd in accordance with the level Vsig of the video signal and then suppresses variation in threshold voltage Vth of the drive transistor Trd.
