<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of taking effective countermeasures when a fire or the like breaks out. <P>SOLUTION: In an MFP 1, upon sensing a fire alarm (emergency bell, siren) by a fire information sensing section 32, an abnormality determination processing section 34 instructs a print processing section 22 to stop forming or printing of images. Further, the section 34 instructs a transfer processing section 36 to transfer stored data to a safe portion for evacuation. Thus, documents and data can be prevented from being left behind in a site after extinguishment of a fire.
