SIGNAL GENERATOR, TEST PATTERN, AND EVALUATION METHOD OF VIDEO APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely examine degradation of picture quality and noise caused by encoding process and decoding process such as MPEG2, relating to a signal generator, test pattern, and evaluation method of video apparatus.

SOLUTION: The same still image is displayed in regions AR1-AR4 formed by dividing a display screen in vertical direction or horizontal direction. The still image is scrolled in horizontal direction or vertical direction at a different scrolling speed for each of the regions AR1-AR4.
