PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer capacitor which is low in ESL and easily performs ESR control. SOLUTION: In a capacitor body 8, one second capacitor portion 13 is arranged so that it may be sandwiched between two first capacitor portions. The ESR is controlled by changing ratios of widths of lead portions between the first and the second capacitor portions, and ratios of the number of laminated sheets of internal electrodes, while making shorter a widthwise dimension L2 of each lead portion 26 and 28 of a third and a fourth internal electrodes 19 and 20 provided at the second capacitor portion 13, as compared with a widthwise dimension of each lead portion of a first and a second internal electrodes provided at the first capacitor portion. Meanwhile, in the first capacitor portion, current paths from the internal electrodes to external terminal electrodes are widely distributed, and the ESL of the first capacitor portion is made relatively low to attain the low ESL.
