PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distal end hood for an endoscope capable of suitably securing the visual field of the imaging part of an endoscope. SOLUTION: The distal end hood for the endoscope is to be mounted on the insertion part distal end of the endoscope provided with an insertion part having the observation window of the image part for imaging an inspection object disposed at the distal end. The distal end hood includes an attaching part detachably attached to the end part on the distal end side of the insertion part, and a cover part connected to the end part on the insertion part distal end side of the attaching part, whose part more on the distal end side than the observation window in the extending direction of the insertion part is transparent. Hydrophilicity treatment is performed to at least a part of the inner peripheral surface of the cover part and the outer peripheral surface of a cap. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
