PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable water in an aquarium to be subjected to water-quality cleaning and filtered by using a filter without giving any care to the filter by detachably attaching a water quality-cleaning cartridge storing a water quality-cleaning agent on the front face of the filter, and to enable the exchange and replacement of the water quality-cleaner to be carried out simply and easily. SOLUTION: The device for cleaning the aquarium water comprises the filter F installed in the interior of the aquarium V, and the water quality-cleaning cartridge C to be detachably attached to the front face of the filter F. The water in the aquarium V is subjected to the water quality-cleaning by the water quality-cleaning agent 24 by being sucked into the water quality-cleaning cartridge C by the drive of an underwater pump 2 of the filter F, and returned into the aquarium V by being filtered with a filter material 7 by being sucked into the filter F.
