PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor reduced in manufacturing cost by reducing an excessive compression loss caused by the flow resistance of a refrigerant in a discharge hole of a compression section. SOLUTION: This rotary compressor has compression section comprising a cylindrical cylinder, two end plates for closing both ends of the cylinder, a piston held by an eccentric section of a rotary shaft driven to rotate by a motor, revolving in the cylinder along a cylinder inner wall of the cylinder and forming an operation chamber between the cylinder inner wall and itself and a vane projecting in the operation chamber from the inside of a vane groove of the cylinder and partitioning the operation chamber into a suction chamber and a compression space by abutting on a piston, a sealed compressor casing for storing the compression section, a suction hole arranged in the cylinder and making the suction chamber communicate with the low pressure side of a refrigerating cycle, and the discharge hole arranged in the one end plate and communicating the compression space with the high pressure side of the refrigerating cycle.
