<p>In a vertical axis wind turbine used for wind power generation, power generation efficiency in a wide range of wind speed regions is improved. In the vertical axis wind turbine having a plurality of blades (3) arranged at equiangular intervals around a vertical axis of rotation in an inner surface perpendicular to the vertical axis of rotation, a blade whose blade outer surface (3a) heavily curves outwardly compared with a blade inner surface (3b) is formed in a streamlined asymmetric blade form having a lift coefficient of 1.0 or more and a notching portion (B) is formed in the blade inner surface of the blade by a notch to the trailing edge starting on a predetermined position (P). Furthermore, the thickness (T) of the blade is set to 22% to 30% with respect to a blade chord length (C) of the blade and the predetermined position is set to a position behind a position of 45% and forward a position of 65% from the leading edge with respect to the blade chord length of the blade.</p> |
