Disclosed is an encoding method with a small error. The encoding method corrects a normalized value obtained from an input signal by an error worth obtained from the input/output at the time of vector quantization and then quantizes the corrected value. For this end, the encoding method comprises a normalization step of normalizing the input signal on the basis of the normalized value of an input signal obtained for each frame, a dividing step of dividing the normalized frames into a divided input signal sequence according to a predetermined rule, a vector quantization step of vector-quantizing the divided input signal sequence to generate a vector quantization index, and a normalized value correcting step of correcting the normalized value of the input signal by the error worth obtained from the input/output at the time of the vector quantization step.
