<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive both electric power for motor driving and electric power for control section driving by one connector and to integrate various connectors for power supply, data communication, debugging, and memory rewriting into one. <P>SOLUTION: An option device connected to an image forming apparatus includes a control section 10, a storage section which stores a plurality of programs etc., a motor which requires a higher drive voltage than the control section 10, a first connector C1 in which a data communication line D, a power line SP, and a ground line GL for transmitting and receiving data by the image forming apparatus and control section 10 are bundled in one, a voltage conversion section 17 which converts supply electric power, steps down the voltage, and outputs the stepped down voltage to the control section 10, and a switch 8 which supplies electric power to the control section 10 after it passes through the voltage conversion section 17 when a voltage input to the option device is larger than the drive voltage of the control section 10, and supplies the electric power to the control section 10 not through the voltage conversion section 17 when the voltage input to the option device is lower than or equal to the drive voltage of the control section 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
