<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control system which allows the automatic continuous removal of PM until the removal of the particulates is determined to be completed when the particulates (PM) are accumulated on a DPF device irrespective of the operation and stop of an engine, and its control method. <P>SOLUTION: An exhaust emission control system 1 is equipped with an ECU 4 for executing control for combusting and removing the PM by heating air by a heating means 8 while supplying air to an exhaust passage 9 through a first metering valve 7 during an engine stop until the removal of the PM is determined to be completed when reaching the removal timing of the PM accumulated on a DPF device 3. The ECU 4 successively performs the combustion and removal of the PM accumulated on the DPF device 3 by switching and controlling at least the first metering valve 7 even if the engine is shifted from an operation state to a stop state and from the stop state to the operation state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
