PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing compound for the liquid crystal dropping technique excellent in preventing crystal liquid insertion and a vertically conducting material in the production of a liquid crystal display device, and a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The sealing compound for the liquid crystal dropping technique includes a curable resin and a photoreaction initiator and/or a thermal curing agent, and the above curable resin includes a compound which is a condensate of glycerin and bisphenol having an acryloxy group or an epoxy group at both terminals.
