PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-liquid separator comprising: a solid-liquid separation part having a plurality of stationary plates and each movable plate arranged between the adjoining stationary plates; and a screw elongating so as to pass through the solid-liquid separation part, where each movable plate is pressed and moved by the rotating screw, further, the object to be treated entered into the solid-liquid separation part is moved toward the outlet of the solid-liquid separation part, the filtrate separated from the object to be treated is discharged to the outside of the solid-liquid separation part through a filtrate discharge gap, and the object to be treated whose liquid content has been reduced is discharged to the outside of the solid-liquid separation part from the outlet, by which the efficiency of solid-liquid separation to the object to be treated which has not been flocculated is increased. SOLUTION: A solid-liquid separation part 3 is divided into a plurality of areas AR1, AR2 and AR3 along the moving direction C of the object to be treated, further, provided that the remaining gap width obtained, from the gap width between adjoining two stationary plates 28, by subtracting the thickness of a movable plate 29 arranged between both the stationary plates 28 is defined as an effective gap width, the effective gap width in the area on the upstream side in the moving direction of the object to be treated in the adjoining two areas is set so as to be narrower than the effective gap width in the area on the downstream side.
