The geometric transformation technique allows the restoration of the original view that has been captured by the lens. Accordingly, the method for geometric transformation of video images, comprises: capturing a scene (200) from a lens in a form of circular video image (210), decomposing (220) the circular video image (210) into arc image data (230), straightening and mapping (240) the decomposed lines (230) into straight vertical lines forming a rectangular image (250), and correcting the rectangular image using a non-linear stretching method in horizontal (260) and a non-linear stretching method vertical axes (280) to achieve a corrected rectangular image (300).
