<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the decrease in toner chargeability when residual toner after transfer is recovered together with charged particles on its surface in order to be recycled, in an image forming apparatus of a hybrid development system. <P>SOLUTION: Developer contains toner, charged particles having the reverse polarity and carrier. The developing device has a first conveying member and a second conveying member opposite a photoreceptor. An electric field generating means generates a first electric field between the first and the second conveying members, and moves toner in developer in the first conveying member to the second conveying member. The electric field generating means also separates some of charged particles from the toner and recovers them into developer, generates a second electric field between the second conveying member and photoreceptor, thereby moving the toner in the second conveying member to an electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor. The image forming apparatus includes a toner recycle conveying means by which the residual toner after transfer removed from the surface of the photoreceptor by a cleaner is conveyed to a developer storage part. The conveying means is provided with a separating means for separating the charged particles on the surface of the residual toner after transfer from the toner particles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
