<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To much more easily copy data copied from an unspecific device to electronic equipment from electronic equipment only to a specific device while preventing the leakage of data. <P>SOLUTION: When a USB memory 1 is connected to a PC 3 at a dispatch destination, the USB memory 1 is recognized as an external storage medium in a PC 3, and the data can be copied from the PC 3. The data of a customer transferred from the PC 3 to the USB memory 1 are encrypted inside the USB memory 1 by using a cryptographic key provided from the PC 2 which is present in an office in initialization, and the encrypted data are stored in a flash memory. The data encrypted by the USB memory 1 are not decrypted inside the USB memory 1 but encrypted at the PC side where the data are read form the USB memory 1.
