PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CS optical pulse train generating device or the like capable of varying an optical pulse width, a duty ratio, and a center wavelength of a CS optical pulse train. SOLUTION: The CS optical pulse train generating device is composed by providing a first electricity modulation signal generator 10, a second electricity modulation signal generator 14, a two mode beat light source 18, and an intensity modulator 20. The first electricity modulation signal generator generates and outputs a first electricity modulation signal 13. The second electricity modulation signal generator generates and outputs a second electricity modulation signal 15 with the same frequency as the first electricity modulation signal and provided with a phase difference of aδradian (δis a real number satisfying 0≤δ≤π). The two mode beat light source is driven by the first electricity modulation signal and generates and outputs two mode beat light 19. The intensity modulator is inputted with the two mode beat light to generate and output the CS optical pulse train 21.
