<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar battery module which can prevent disconnection of an interconnector without reducing productivity, and can attain weight reduction while ensuring shock resistance and stiffness. <P>SOLUTION: Since a surface protection material 14 in a solar battery module 10 consists of polycarbonate (PC) which is far more lightweight than glass material, weight of the solar battery module is reduced sharply. On the other hand, since other part of a surface protection material 14 excepting a recess 14A has a sufficient stiffness depending on the thickness T thereof, sufficient shock resistance and stiffness are ensured. Furthermore, since thermal stress which is generated in a sealer 13 when the solar battery module 10 expands and contacts thermally is reduced at a part where an interconnector 12 is sealed, thermal stress acting on the joint of an interconnector 12 is reduced and disconnection is prevented at the joint.
