PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform air-conditioning without starting a compressor for a car air-conditioner by an internal combustion engine or other methods during an idling stop period, in a vehicle equipped with an idling stop function or the like. SOLUTION: A cooler for an automobile is equipped with a compressor which compresses a refrigerant; a condenser which discharges heat of the refrigerant to the outside, an expansion valve which makes the refrigerant perform adiabatic expansion; and an evaporator which discharges cold heat of the refrigerant to air sent to inside the cabin. Heat is stored by installing a thermal storage device for storing heat and an expansion valve for leading the refrigerant apart from the expansion valve. Moreover, it includes a means to control the flow of the refrigerant according to the state of the thermal storage material when storing heat in the thermal storage device.
