The present invention relates to a novel transparent optical substrate, to a method of obtaining it and to its application as an optical element. The substrate (4), made of a transparent organic or inorganic material, comprises transparent elements (5) distributed within the volume thereof, including in the visual field of the person using said substrate (4).
