A helicopter rotor comprises blades, a rotor hub for supporting the blades, and a lead-lug angle mechanism for changing the lead-lag angle of the blades in synchronism with the rotations of the rotor hub. The lead-lug angle mechanism changes the lead-lag angle of the blades (3) so that the circumferential velocity of the blade ends may be low on the sweep-forward side and high on the sweep-back side. Provided are a helicopter capable of flying at a high speed, rotors for the helicopter, and a method for controlling the helicopter.
