PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferritic stainless steel which can sufficiently prevent Cr and/or its compound from evaporating particularly in an environment of being exposed to a high-temperature water vapor. SOLUTION: The ferritic stainless steel has a composition comprising 11 to 22 mass% Cr, 0.03 mass% or less C (including 0 mass%), 0.03 mass% or less N (including 0 mass%), 1.5 mass% or less Mn (including 0 mass%), 0.008 mass% or less S (including 0 mass%), 2 mass% or less Si (including 0 mass%), 1.0 to 6.0 mass% Al and the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities, while satisfying the condition expressed by the following expression (1): W<SB>Cr</SB>+1.5×W<SB>Si</SB>+6×W<SB>Al</SB>≥30, wherein W<SB>Cr</SB>, W<SB>Si</SB>and W<SB>Al</SB>represent respective content ratios (unit: mass%) of Cr, Si and Al with respect to the total mass of the ferritic stainless steel sheet.
