PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ONT capable of receiving a multicast frame, and when a terminal connected to the ONT does not receive the multicast frame, performing power reduction in a communicable state of a unicast frame. SOLUTION: The optical network apparatus is provided with associative memories for unicast addresses and multicast addresses which are used for address retrieval and a power supply control part capable of individually switching ON/OFF of power supply. The optical network apparatus monitors a specific frame to be transmitted/received to/from a user terminal; and when a user does not receive the specific frame for fixed time, discards frames corresponding to multicast addresses, at a stage prior to retrieving the multicast addresses and turns off power supply to the associative memory for multicast addresses.
