The transmission (5) has two partial drive strands in which a set of gears is switched by using hydraulic switching actuators and a hydraulic device for controlling a switch cylinder. The switch cylinder comprises a rotary slide valve with a rotary slide (2). The rotary valve is driven by a linear actuator (1) acting in two rotating directions of the rotary slide. The actuator comprises a drive (4) i.e. proportional magnet (6), and an axially displaceable piston (3). A gear rod is integrated with the piston. The gear rod is interlocked with a gear wheel provided at the rotary slide.
