The device has a traction mechanism (1) e.g. traction rope, for moving a user with a speed against the effect of a counter force. The mechanism is supported at a deflection roller (4), such that the user lifts weight parts (3) through pulling of a handle (2). The deflection roller is supported at a roller bearing (6) that comprises an inner ring and an outer ring, where a relative speed of the rings is detected for determining the speed of the mechanism. The inner ring is arranged at a shaft (5) in a torque-proof manner, where the roller bearing is designed as speed sensor bearing.
