<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that when an AA alkaline battery with a high capacity, high output, and low cost is continuously over-discharged, voltage is deteriorated at the last stage of discharge. <P>SOLUTION: The AA alkaline battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and an alkaline electrolytic liquid. The negative electrode contains as an active material zinc of ≥4.0 g and an indium compound of 50 to 1,000 ppm based on the weight of zinc, and bismuth.
