PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device for absorbing variations of each device to preferably read images, a multi-functional printer, and a method of processing images. SOLUTION: The following processes are provided to a method of processing images by which light is irradiated to an image manuscript from light-emitting means which emits each three primary colors of light, its reflected light is received by light-receiving means, and image data obtained based on the received light is subjected to image processing. That is, an original color reading process, in which each of three primary colors is irradiated in order onto the image manuscript by light-emitting means and the image manuscript is read, and a complementary color reading process, in which two primary colors of three different combinations in the three primary colors of light are irradiated onto the image manuscript by the light-emitting means and the image manuscript is read. Further, these original color reading process and complementary color reading process are provided with an image processing process, in which shading correction is performed on image data based on calibration data obtained by calibrating light-emitting means when reading the image manuscript.
