PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device capable of reducing noise caused by stick-slip in an unstable mode, to provide an image forming apparatus, a process cartridge and a color image forming apparatus each equipped with the cleaning device. SOLUTION: A noise detecting means 15 is disposed near and around a blade member 6c, and an exciting source 16 is attached along the whole length of the blade member 6c, and the exciting source 16 is actuated based on the noise detected by the noise detecting means 15 so as to uniformly vibrate the whole rubbing portion with the photoreceptor 1 of the blade member, then, the rubbing state of the rubbing portion with the photoreceptor 1 is changed, consequently, the noise caused by the stick-slip in the unstable mode is appropriately reduced.
